MTN To Terminate Agreement with 20,000+ Mobile Money Agents Over Fraudulent Acts

Ghana’s leading telecommunication provider, MTN, is set to terminate agreement with 20,000+ mobile money agent. This follows their involvement in some fraudulent activities which goes against the codes of the network.

The rate at which some mobile money agent engage in such deliberate act is very high. They team up with fraudsters in order to gain an unfair advantage over customer’s money. 

Mobile Money fraud cases have increased drastically on mobile networks. It is been compared to virus spreading in a community.

This act has had impact on the long term viability of the Mobile Money firm. This information was reported by the General Manager of Mobile Money Limited, Eli Hini. 

MTN would like to announce that it will soon terminate its contract with some Mobile Money Agents. This exercise would commence on Monday, October 11, 2021.

MTN To Terminate Agreement with 20,000+ Mobile Money Agents Over Fraudulent Acts

More than 20,400 agents have been found guilty to the fraudulent acts. These acts are against the ethics and codes of MTN.

They are therefore sending a message of caution to the identified fraudsters to withdraw their money from the merchant sim. This needs to be done before Monday, October 11, 2021. Victims who do not comply to this notice would loss their monies forever.
