Video of How Chelsea Great Frank Lampard Once Saved Ronaldo From Getting a Red Card Emerges

Footage of Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard demonstrating amazing sportsmanship during a match with Cristiano Ronaldo has resurfaced on the internet.

Lampard, Chelsea’s all-time leading scorer, met Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney on multiple occasions during the latter’s playing days.

Both are still active in the Premier League, with Lampard transitioning from the field to the dugout and currently coaching Everton, while Ronaldo is aging gracefully at Manchester United.

However, a video from January 2009 between the two Premier League legends has resurfaced, generating a social media frenzy.

A late challenge from Ronaldo on Frank Lampard in a Premier League game would have warranted a second yellow card, thus a red card, according to a video posted on Twitter and spotted by UrbanNewsGh, but the ex-England international’s reaction prevented Howard Webb from giving Cristiano his marching orders.

After the incident, the Chelsea icon leapt to his feet, grinned, and embraced Ronaldo, seemingly urging Webb not to pursue any action.
