Erling Haaland missed a glorious chance in Manchester City’s 3-1 Community Shield defeat to Liverpool and he looked disappointed with himself.
The 22-year-old struggled during the annual season opener at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.
Haaland did have a glorious chance to open his account in English football late on, but fluffed his lines massively.
Phil Foden had his shot saved by Adrian and the Liverpool goalkeeper pushed the ball back into danger.
Haaland managed to peel away from James Milner and Joel Matip and put as much power as possible into his shot. It was too much.
The Norway international saw his effort crash off the bar as every Liverpool fan inside the stadium jeered.
Seconds later, cameras caught Haaland putting his hand over his face in disgust.
Haaland is still regarded as one of the world’s top forwards, but fans are doubting he will hit the ground running in English football.

One person tweeted: “Bundesliga tax has just shot up…”
Another put: “Might take him out of my FPL because of this.”
A third commented: “Oh my god they’ve spent all that money on that?!”
While someone said: “Haaland’s reputation might be dusted already.”
Liverpool looked the fitter side throughout and opened the scoring through Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The full-back saw his effort go in off the post after a deflection off City defender Nathan Ake.
City did grow into the contest and got their equaliser through Julian Alvarez.
Alvarez turned home after Foden’s shot was saved by Adrian.
