Unbelievable: Messi Misses A Crucial Penalty Against Real Madrid

Former Barcelona star Lionel Messi missed a crucial penalty in a match against Real Madrid. The 2021 Ballon d’Or winner just wasted a huge opportunity to rewrite his name in Champions League history after missing a vital penalty for his side.

Real Madrid’s tough defense was ultimately broken in extraordinary conditions as Kylian Mbappe scored an injury-time winner against the team he could join this summer.

After Thibaut Courtois saved Lionel Messi’s second-half penalty, it appeared that Madrid’s defensive strategy had paid off, but Mbappe produced a moment of magic to give PSG a narrow lead to take to the Spanish capital.

In the first half, Lionel Messi had his moments, but they were far too short, and the second half would be even worse for him. PSG continued to press in the second half, with Acrif Hakimi flicking the ball towards Mbappe, who was denied by Courtois’ low save.

Carvajal, who had been battling Mbappe all night, made a big error. He got beaten by the Frenchman and went in for a battle he wasn’t ready for.

Messi went up and saw his penalty saved by Courtois, who dived down low to his left in a crucial juncture in the tie. He had a terrible penalty record for a player of his caliber, and despite his good goalscoring record vs Madrid, he was unable to score from 12 yards.

Meanwhile, Manchester City were totally fascinating as they tore apart Sporting CP and put the game to rest in under 45 minutes. Man City ripped their Portuguese hosts apart with a 5-0 triumph thanks to two goals from Bernardo Silva and one each from Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, and Riyad Mahrez.
