Raphinha, a winger for Leeds, is close to having his future decided amid reports that Barcelona matched Chelsea’s offer for the Brazilian. Although Leeds and Chelsea have reached a deal in the neighborhood of £60 million, the player has been holding out for a transfer to Spain.
According to GOAL, Raphinha and his agent, Deco, reportedly gave Barca 48 hours to reach a deal with Leeds, with the Catalan club likely wanting to pay in installments, or else they would start talks with Chelsea. There are rumors that the pace of the negotiations between Leeds and Barcelona has increased.
Barcelona reportedly started the summer with a £508 million deficit, but they were able to improve their financial situation by selling certain television rights. However, they are still having issues, and until additional money is obtained, they cannot register new acquisitions, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.
Due to the debt, Barca will probably need to pay Leeds for Raphinha in multiple installments, with the initial sum being less than Chelsea’s bid. Although Leeds are eager to make a deal with the London club, Raphinha has already agreed to personal terms with Xavi’s team.
