Sadio Mane Turns Down Liverpool’s AFCON Celebration Out Of Respect To Salah

Sadio Mane is said to have made a specific request to Liverpool before their Premier League match against Norwich on Saturday.

After returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, Sadio Mane and strike partner Mohamed Salah made a special request to Liverpool.

The two Reds superstars faced off in the competition’s final earlier this month, with Mane’s Senegal defeating Salah’s Egypt in Cameroon.

Indeed, it was Mane who scored the game-winning penalty after spurning a spot-kick opportunity in normal time to secure the Senegalese team’s first-ever triumph.

It was heartbreak for the league’s record winners, as well as Salah, who has yet to win a title throughout his international career.

According to Canal Football Club, Mane requested that Liverpool not mention him or Senegal winning Africa’s most prestigious championship.

Mane is said to have made the request out of respect for Salah, who is said to be recovering from his nation’s near-miss at the tournament.

Mane consoled Salah minutes after his decisive spot-kick in the final in Yaounde, with the Egyptian striker unable to hold back tears.
