Robert Lewandowski Blasts Bayern Munich For Spreading Lies About Him

The war of words between Bayern Munich and Barcelona continues. The two European giants have taken pot shots at each other following Robert Lewandowski’s transfer from the German champions to the Spanish side.

Lewandowski himself has now got involved in the verbal sparring, accusing Bayern of spreading lies about him while he was trying to leave the club, The Mirror reported.

“The club tried to find an argument why they could sell me to another club. Maybe because it was difficult to explain to fans. I had to accept that it was a lot of bulls*** said about me,” he said.

The Polish striker’s run at Bayern didn’t end on the best of notes as Lewandowski asked to leave at the end of last season. The club were reluctant to sell but eventually agreed on a deal with Barcelona.

Since then, tensions have been high between the clubs. Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann fired shots against the Spanish side, saying it was crazy how they could buy so many players without having any money.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta then fired back that Bayern should ‘look at their own bank account’ to see that Barca did have money, the Daily Mail reported. ‘I would tell Bayern to look at their checking account, that important money has come in because of Lewandowski.” He also accused the German side of “distorting reality.”
