According to reports, Real Madrid is concerned about missing out on Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland. Los Blancos have been keeping tabs on the Norway international since his debut in 2019.
When Kylian Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer, the Spaniards are expected to sign the France international on a free transfer. And the thought of competing for a starting XI spot with Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema has reportedly made Haaland hesitant of coming to Madrid.
That’s according to Goal, the 21-year-old “wants to be the main man wherever he plays.”
It’s also been reported that Madrid executives feel Manchester City will beat them to Haaland’s coveted signature. The Premier League champions have offered the Norwegian a lucrative contract at the Etihad Stadium, according to reports.
However, Haaland, who is a target for a number of Europe’s great clubs, is said to prefer Madrid.
Since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in December 2019, Haaland has been nothing short of sensational.
