Mohammed Kudus, a Ghanaian midfielder who plays for Ajax’s lower team, returned to play on Monday night. The 21-year-old played in Jong Ajax’s 2-0 win over Jong PSV in the Dutch Eerste Divisie. The former FC Nordsjaelland playmaker played 46 minutes in their victory.
He was replaced by Victor Jensen, who is gaining match fitness ahead of the Eredivisie games this weekend, after an amazing first-half performance. Kudus has recovered from an injury he suffered in November of last year during a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa.
He had a call up from the Ghana National team in the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, however due to his injury, Ajax never released him. On Sunday, Ajax will face FC Twente in the Eredivisie, and the Ghanaian midfielder is expected to play.
Kudus Mohammed, on the other hand, is expected to play for the Black Stars against Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff. And he’ll be a key player in Ghana’s playoff match against Nigeria.
