According to Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain, the best player in the world is his Brazilian compatriot, Vinicius Junior.
Following his goal-scoring heroics in the UEFA Champions League finals against Liverpool last Saturday, Neymar showered praise on the Real Madrid winger.
Real Madrid won their 14th Champions League title with a solitary goal from Vinicius Junior against Liverpool, who were much favored.
Vinicius was named the 2021-22 UEFA Best Young Player after his performance in the finals and overall performance during the season.
But when it came to judging the 20-year-old forward’s play, Neymar went one step further and said that Vinicius was the best player in the world, better than Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe, who are both favorites for the Ballon d’Or.
“Mbappe had a great season, Benzema too. But from what I’ve seen, Vinicius Junior is the best player in the world,” Neymar said in an interview with TNT Sports Brazil as quoted by CBS Sports.
