Manchester City Star Zinchenko Shares Emotional Message On Social Media After Russia Invasion

Oleksandr Zinchenko voiced his support for Ukraine in an Instagram post on Tuesday evening, as tensions between his native nation and Russia continue to rise.

After Vladimir Putin deployed 10,000 troops into Russian-held separatist parts of Ukraine, the Manchester City defender took to social media to express his support.

Zinchenko, who began his career with FC Ufa in Russia, claimed he “can’t stand back” when “the entire civilized world” is concerned about his nation.

In an emotional message, Zinchenko said: ‘The whole civilized world is worried about the situation in my country.

‘I can’t stay back and strive to put my point across. In the photo – my country. The country where I was born and raised.

‘A country whose colours I defend in the international sports arena. A country that we try to glorify and develop. A country whose borders must remain inviolable. My country belongs to Ukrainians and no one will ever be able to appropriate it. We will not give up! Glory to Ukraine.’

Zinchenko’s life has been impacted by international conflict on several occasions after relocating to Russia as a child after the commencement of the Donbas war.
