Kylian Mbappe has made no secret of his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain last summer. The Paris Saint-Germain striker spoke up about his failed summer deal to Real Madrid, claiming he was upfront from the start.
Kylian Mbappe, who has been silent since his PSG transfer controversy last summer, now indulges in his soap opera that has had the entire football world waiting. The Frenchman admits his plan to quit PSG during the last transfer window in an interview with RMC Sport, parts of which have been published.
He said: “I said I wanted to leave, and I said it pretty early on. Personally, I didn’t really like saying yes, he’s coming the last week of August, I said at the end of July that I wanted to leave”.
“I asked to leave because from the moment I didn’t want to extend, I wanted the club to have a transfer fee to have a quality replacement. It’s a club that has given me a lot, I have always been happy for the four years I have been here, and I still am.
“I announced it early enough that the club could turn around. I wanted everyone to go out grown up, to go out hand in hand, to make a good deal, and I respected that. I said, if you don’t want me to go, I’ll stay”, said the French world champion.
