FIFA Reject Cape Coast Sport Stadium Ahead Of Ghana-Nigeria Super Clash

According to information available to UrbanNewsGh, the Cape Coast Stadium, which had been assigned for the Ghana-Nigeria World Cup qualification match, has been rejected by organizing authorities as unfit for the purpose.

Ghana celebrated its 65th Independence Day in Cape Coast, with the national parade taking place just in front of the stadium, rendering the ground unfit for a key encounter between two of Africa’s football powers.

The news comes after Ghana’s sports authorities declared plans to restore the field to its original form following the day’s use by the country’s security agencies for their march pass.

According to sources, the only choice today is the Babayara sports stadium, and even Nigeria must agree to the game being played in Kumasi; if they do not, the game will be moved to Benin.
