Cameroon football icon Samuel Eto’o could be hauled back into court for disobeying a court order establishing his paternity as the father of a 22-year-old woman.
According to Marca, the former Barcelona striker could face new legal action because he has yet to accept responsibility and pay compensation to the family.
According to the Mirror, the FECAFOOT president has never admitted that he is Erika Do Rosario Nieves’ biological father and has refused to appear in court sessions since the case was settled in February.
Adileusa, Erika’s mother, filed the lawsuit in 2018 and has worked hard to provide proof to back up her claim that Eto’o is her daughter’s biological father.
Following a court judgement earlier this year, the former Chelsea forward has been officially named as the legal father. He was ordered to give the woman a monthly stipend of €1,400, which dated back to the time the action was filed.
In a recent interview with La Vanguardia, the Adileusa said that Eto’o has not yet made an upkeep offer.
Adileusa ‘Dee Dee’ do Rosario, originally from the Cape Verde Islands, explained: “It’s all for my daughter, to whom he has never given anything. He has not given the girl anything since the day she was born.
“Absolutely nothing, not even with a judicial decision. She has grown up without her father and she feels so sorry because she hasn’t even given her the chance to meet him.”
Further reports claim that Adileusa met the four-time African Footballer of the Year at a nightclub in Madrid in 1997 during his spell with Spanish club Leganes.
