Erik Ten Hag Reportedly Interested In Signing Chelsea Midfielder To Manchester United

English Premier League outfit Manchester United are said to be monitoring Mason Mount’s situation at the Stamford Bridge as they hope to sign the Chelsea youngster.

Following the recent managerial crisis at the London club, Mount’s contract talks have stalled and United will hope to take advantage.

It was gathered that United’s new boss Ten Hag is aware of the player’s situation – as the central midfielder impressed him as a teenager while on loan with Vitesse Arnheim in Holland.

Since then, United have tracked his progress and if there is any opportunity, Mount would be tempted to the North West.

SunSport reports that Manchester City and Liverpool have made enquiries for the player should he decide to dump the Blues.

Mount remains one of the lowest-paid players at Chelsea despite being named the best player of the year for a second time.

He still has two years left on his £88,000-a-week existing deal. However, he had stated that he will look forward to achieving more with the London club.

He told Sky Sports via Daily Mail: “It’s an exciting time now with the owners being confirmed, going forward it’s going to be exciting. “The era under Roman [Abramovich] has been brilliant, now we look forward. It’s exciting stuff, can’t wait to get back to it.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain’s fullback Achraf Hakimi with the hope of bringing him to England this summer.

The Blues already have one of the best right-backs in Reece James, but his future is still uncertain.

A host of top clubs are bidding to land the English defender, with Manchester City, the latest entrants. Real Madrid have also in the past expressed interest in signing James.
