Chelsea Squad: Confirmed Shirt Numbers For 2022/23 Season

New signings Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling’s squad numbers for the upcoming season have now been confirmed.

The duo, summer arrivals from Napoli and Manchester City respectively, have been handed the number 26 (Koulibaly) and the number 17 (Sterling), just as they wore throughout our pre-season campaign.

Conor Gallagher, back at the Blues following a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace, takes the number 23 shirt that he wore during his stint at Selhurst Park.

Armando Broja will wear the number 18 for this season, while our latest signing Carney Chukwuemeka has been handed the number 30 shirt.

Levi Colwill, Ethan Ampadu, Kenedy, Billy Gilmour, Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi have all not been given 2022/23 Chelsea squad numbers.

Levi Colwill has not been given an official squad number as he will leave Chelsea to join Brighton, part of the Cucurella deal. Possible loan but it’s matter of details – he’ll join Brighton.

In other news, César Azpilicueta has signed new deal with Chelsea to stay two more years at the club, here we go!

Deal completed today between Chelsea board and Azpilicueta, it will be officially announced soon.

Barcelona had an agreement with Azpilicueta on two year deal since February but no agreement with Chelsea on the fee.

Azpilicueta has accepted to stay at Chelsea as he has always been serious, professional and committed.

Xavi wanted Azpi but Tuchel and Todd Boehly had direct calls with him to stay and continue together as he’s considered key player and leader.
