Arsenal’s Ukrainian target will cost MORE than Man United’s £85m signing Antony

Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk have attempted to wave off potential suitors interested in securing a cut-price deal for 21-year-old superstar Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The winger has stormed into the European limelight following impressive performances for his side in the Champions League, scoring three goals in five matches.

Mudrky was the subject of summer interest from Premier League title hopefuls Arsenal, but has now also captured the attention of other top European sides with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City reportedly entering the race for his signature in January.

Donetsk compared the Ukrainian to PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr, and AC Milan’s Rafa Leao when discussing the potential fee that would be required to see Mudryk leave the club.

The club’s Deputy sporting director Carlo Nicolini insisted that the Champions League contenders would only be willing to enter negotiations for Mudryk if a bid of at least £85m is made.

‘Together with Kylian Mbappe, Rafa Leao and Vinicius Jr, Mudryk is the strongest player in his role, he told

‘Is £35m enough to buy him? We don’t speak for these figures, not even for £45m, we don’t even call the president to make the offer.

‘We value Mudryk more than United’s Antony – £85m. Floating between Arsenal and Man City? They are two teams that have taken an interest in the player.

‘But there are also other clubs than can spend right away. We are not obliged to sell, we do not want to lose phenomena. We don’t want to shoot figures that aren’t realistic.

‘But in this team, he is the most decisive. If you want to take on certain players who make a difference in the top clubs, you also need the right money.’

At £85m, Mudryk would enter the top 15 most expensive transfers in history and become the most expensive Eastern European player ever.
