To help offset the loss of Lacazette and Aubameyang, the Gunners signed Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.
Thanks to his exploits with Manchester City, the Brazilian striker has earned a reputation as one of the best in the business. He appeared in 159 games with the Cityzens, scoring 58 goals.
Arteta needed to find a good number nine after the departures of Alexander Lacazette and Aubameyang. Jesus will be a key cog in Arsenal’s attack next season as they strive for a return to prominence.
One of the Gunners’ top performers, Smith Rowe, has a chance to outscore Gabriel Jesus in goals next season. The 21 year old English midfielder had a good run last season despite starting from the bench in most matches.
Although the Gunners got off to a rough start, he was instrumental in turning things around. Formerly, he was a key contributor to his team’s success on the field by scoring and setting up goals.
Despite playing in fewer than 20 Premier League games, Rowe scored 10 goals. Unfortunately, he had to slow down since he needed more time to play because of the lack of playing time.
He was second on the Gunners’ scoring chart behind only Bukayo Saka despite coming off the bench for the majority of the season.
His outstanding play earned him a spot on the England roster, and he promptly scored a spectacular goal in his international debut. He could improve his goal-scoring totals if he gets more playing time next year.
Given the opportunity, Smith Rowe could end up with more goals than Gabriel Jesus in the upcoming season.
