Nigeria has a plethora of excellent players who were born outside the nation but are Nigerians.

In this article, we’ll look at seven players that are from Nigeria but play for the English national team:

  • Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Ayoyinka Saka is an English professional soccer player currently playing as a winger for the Premier League club, Arsenal, and the England national team.

Saka is known for his attacking incisiveness and creativity, he is often considered one of the best young football players in the world. Born in Ealing, England, he was included in the 26-man squad for the 2020 UEFA Euro. Saka is a Nigerian of Yoruba descent.

  • Fikayo Tomori

Fikayo Tomori is an English professional soccer player who is currently playing as a centre-back for AC Milan and the national team of England.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Nigerian parents, three years ago, Fikayo received his first call-up to the England senior squad for forthcoming 2020 UEFA Euro qualifying matches. He later said he was committed to playing for England, following interest from Nigeria and Canada. He made his first international debut for England in the 2020 UEFA Euro qualifying game against Kosovo.

  • Sheyi Ojo

Oluwaseyi Babajide Ojo, simply known as Sheyi Ojo, is an English professional footballer currently playing as a winger for Millwall and the England national junior team.

Born in Hemel Hempstead, England, to Nigerian parents, Sheyi has represented England at under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19, under-20 and under-21 levels. In his early teens, Sheyi often played at a higher age group at international level, representing England U17s at the St George’s Park Tournament in 2012 at the age of fifteen. He was selected for the England under-20 team in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

  • Folarin Balogun

Folarin Jerry Balogun is an English professional soccer player who plays as a striker for Middlesbrough and the national youth team of England.

Two years ago, Abraham made his first competitive appearance for England in a game against the Czech Republic, appearing as a substitute and committing himself to England in the process. He scored his first goal for England in a winning game against Montenegro for the 2020 UEFA Euro qualifying match.
