According to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi is waiting for Barcelona to finalize the sale of their two assets: Barca’s licensing and merchandising and a portion of the club’s television rights. Barca will thereafter be able to complete certain player signings.
To begin, the club must register Sergi Roberto (who has signed a new contract), Andreas Christensen, and Franck Kessie under the Financial Fair Play regulations.
Then there’s Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Kalidou Koulibaly or Jules Kounde, Bernardo Silva (if Frenkie de Jong leaves), Raphinha (if Ousmane Dembele leaves), and Robert Lewandowski, whom Xavi wants to sign.
We’ll have to wait and see if Barca’s economic operations are complete enough to complete all of these signings. The board members are optimistic, as is customary.
