5. Frank Lampard- 177 goals

Lampard’s goal scoring record is remarkable, given that he primarily played as a central midfielder, and on occasion as the defensive midfielder in a double pivot.

Lampard’s primary responsibility was to assist the wingers and center backs, as well as to prevent the opponent from counter-attacking.

But, thanks to his incredible grasp of the game, he was able to make runs into the box from midfield and drop the ball into the net with relative ease.

4. Sergio Aguero- 180 goals

Sergio Aguero stands out from the crowd due to his flexibility, since he has scored goals under all managers and in a variety of formations.

He dominated the Premier League in his debut season in England, scoring 23 goals, including the game-winning goal in extra time for Manchester City.

After scoring 26 goals in the 2014/15 season, he was awarded the Golden Boot.

3. Andrew Cole – 187 goals

Andrew Cole scored 34 goals in 40 appearances for Newcastle United in his first season in the Premier League, earning him the Golden Boot.

Newcastle United sold him to Manchester United for a then British record amount in January 1995.

After joining Manchester United in January, Cole scored 12 goals in 18 appearances for the club. In 1999 and 2000, he scored 17 and 19 goals, respectively, to help Manchester United win the Premier League.

2. Wayne Rooney- 208 goals.

Manchester United’s all-time leading scorer debuted in the Premier League for Everton in 2002/03 before joining Manchester United in the summer of 2004.

He wowed the Old Trafford supporters by scoring 11 goals in his debut season.

From 2006 to 2009, Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo forged a dangerous front-line combo that helped Manchester United win a hat-trick of Premier League titles.

Rooney became even more consistent after Ronaldo’s departure, scoring 26 goals in the 2009/10 season.

1. Alan Shearer- 260 goals

Shearer stands comfortably atop the Premier League goalscoring charts, having scored 52 goals more than Wayne Rooney, who is in second position.

Shearer was noted for his spectacular headers and ability to finish in the box.

Shearer scored more than 30 goals in three successive seasons from 1993 to 1996.

He then moved to Newcastle United, where he became a legend after scoring over 100 goals in ten seasons with the club.
