5 Clubs With The Most Goals In A Single Premier League Season

Since the Premier League was introduced in 1992, we’ve seen an abundance of goalscoring talent take England’s top flight by storm.

Some formidable strike partnerships have been forged in that time, with a number of teams aided by talented midfielders with a keen eye for goal.

As the seasons go by, we seem to see more goals than ever flowing in – or is that just our imagination taking over?

Here, we take a look at the top 5 number of goals scored by a single club over the course of a Premier League season.

5. Liverpool 2013/14 season – 101 goals

This season was a season of mixed feelings for Liverpool as they lost the title to Man City after an impressive campaign.

The Reds ended the campaign with 101 goals in the Premier League which is the highest number of goals scored by a runner-up in the league.

Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez bagged 31 goals for Liverpool, followed by Daniel Sturridge with 21 goals.

4. Manchester City 2013/14 season – 102 goals

Man City appeared three times on this list due to their dominanation in recent years.

The Cityzens scored 102 goals that season and finished two points ahead of Liverpool to clinch the Premier League title.

Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko were in hot form for the Etihad side as they hit the back of the net 15 times each in the Premier League

3. Manchester City 2019/20 – 102 goals

Again, Man City find themselves on this list for their goalscoring exploits as they scored 102 goals during the 2019-20 campaign, but the Sky Blues finished second to Liverpool that season.

Raheem Sterling was City’s top scorer as he scored 20 goals in the league and Sergio Aguero was second with 16 goals.

2. Chelsea 2009/10 – 103 goals

This season was Chelsea’s first season under Carlo Ancelotti and the Blues dominated the Premier League that campaign.

The Football Club lifted the league by finishing a point ahead of Man United, but were great in attack.

The London-based club scored 103 goals in the top flight. Didier Drogba won the Premier League golden boot, while midfielder Frank Lampard scored a 22 goals.

1. Manchester City 2017/18 – 106 goals

Manchester City’s 2017/18 Premier League campaign was a great one as the Sky Blues managed to set a record that no other club has been able to.

The Cityzens finished the season with 100 points and scored a 106 goals in 38 games played in the league. Sergio Aguero scored 21 goals, while Sterling bagged 18.
