Today we’ve decided to look back at some of the most memorable Spaniards to have adorned Chelsea colours.
Some notable names have been left out of our five-man shortlist, with our focus on those who have performed best during their time at Stamford Bridge.
1. Cesar Azpilicueta
The current Chelsea captain signed for the English club from French club Marseille back in 2012 and has had a very successful career in England, winning every possible trophy.
2. Cesc Fabregas
Regarded as one of the best playmakers of his generation, Cesc Fabregas has been an instrumental player for Chelsea in the years he spent at the club, helping them win a number of trophies.
3. Diego Costa
In just three seasons at Chelsea, Costa won the admiration of the supporters with his exceptional performances, helping the club win two Premier League trophies- in 2014/15 and 2016/17.
4. Juan Mata
Mata, who also spent just three seasons at Chelsea, played a crucial role in the club’s successes including their first UCL triumph, having provided the assist for Didier Drogba’s goal in the final.
5. Fernando Torres
Chelsea signed Fernando Torres from Liverpool back in 2011 and the Spaniard was instrumental to a number of successes at the club.
