4 African Footballers Whose Sons Play For Foreign National Teams

1. George Weah

Liberian football legend George Weah who played for the likes of Monaco, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea at club level, is regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation.

He played 75 games for the Liberian national team, scoring 18 times.

However, his son Timothy Weah doesn’t play for Liberia but rather plays for the United States of America.

2. Roger Lukaku

Roger Lukaku played for Zaire (now known as DR Congo) from 1993 to 1996 while his two sons Romelu Lukaku and Jordan Lukaku both play internationally for Belgium..

3. Souleymane Sane

Souleymane Sane played for Senegal during his younger days while his son Leroy Sane represents Germany at international level.
