In order to avoid falling further behind in the summer transfer market when their takeover deal is finalized on Monday, Chelsea would like to move quickly in that market.

This is because they are currently restricted from making any transfers until the ownership dispute surrounding the club is resolved.

There are a number of high-profile players rumored to be interested in joining Chelsea this summer, and they’re waiting for the club’s takeover to be confirmed to begin negotiations and signing transfer agreements.

1. Joules Kounde

According to reports from last summer, Chelsea had agreed to terms with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, who had signed personal terms, but the deal fell through in the last minutes of the transfer window.

As of this writing, Chelsea is reportedly close to finalising a transfer deal with Sevilla for the 23-year-old defender, which is expected to be around £50–60 million.

It is thought that personal terms will not be an issue.

2. Ousmane Dembele

Ousmane Dembele will be a free agent after his current Barcelona deal expires next month, making him a target for major clubs this summer.

After Paris Saint-Germain reportedly withdrew their interest in signing the winger this summer, Chelsea are suddenly the frontrunners to sign him.
