3 Players Who Stand The Chance Of Winning Ballon D’or 2022

Some players have the potential of winning Ballon d’Or in 2022 if they keep up with their good form.

In this article, I have compiled list of 5 footballers who stand the chance of winning Ballon d’Or in 2022.

1. MOHAMMED SALAH

Liverpool’s ‘Egyptian King’ has again proven his worth to Jurgen Klopp’s side with a string of outstanding performances for a squad still seeking a quadruple.

This season, his 28 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions have been essential in his quest to become the first African to win the honor since George Weah in 1995.

With Klopp’s side chasing a seventh Champions League title, his record in the competition is impressive, having scored eight goals in as many games.

Salah has had two significant disappointments at the international level, despite a fantastic season at club level thus far.

Senegal defeated Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations Final, and the Pharaohs were denied a place in this year’s World Cup by the same opponents after Salah missed a critical penalty attempt in the playoff penalty shootout.

2. KARIM BENZEMA

The Frenchman has been in fine form this season, with his 34 goals and 13 assists leading Real Madrid’s charge for domestic and European success.
His pièce de résistance in this season’s Champions League came in form of a hat-trick against Paris Saint Germain, which saw Los Blancos recover from 0-2 on aggregate to claim a 3-2 win and secure their place in the quarter-finals.
The 34-year-old has also illustrated his importance as a leader within the camp after skippering the side in the absence of Marcelo.
Benzema finished fourth in last year’s award behind Lionel Messi, Lewandowski and Jorginho, but has staked a strong claim for this year’s prize.
He was the only Liga player to be ranked in the top 10 places in 2021, and holds the league’s best hope of glory once again.
3. LEWANDOWSKI

After scored 45 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions so far this season, the Polish goal machine continues to do what he does best.

Despite earning FIFA’s Best Player award in each of the previous two years, he was denied a first golden globe in last year’s event, raising many questions.

He has scored 40 goals or more in seven consecutive seasons, and his extraordinary consistency gives him a strong chance of winning the award for the first time.

Bayern Munich is nine points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga standings, and the 33-year-old is on track to capture his 10th Bundesliga title this season.

A second Champions League triumph would also add to his cause, and his 12 goals across eight appearances in the competition have been crucial in Bayern’s pursuit of a seventh European Cup.
