Anthony Elanga was no doubt one of Manchester United’s standout players last season. However, the Swede has occasionally failed to impress under Ten Hag and today was another example. The forward was never given any space to explore and this limited his movements and he also failed to create any space for himself.

  • Harry Maguire

Despite his previous defensive errors, Harry Maguire was quite solid in his tackles against Atletico Madrid. However, the worrying aspect of his game remains that he lacks the confidence and intelligence to make key passes. He is also looking to play the safe passes which yields no effect in the long run.

  • Scott McTominay

Last but not least is Scott McTominay. The Scottish international has occasionally been criticized for his lack of movements in midfield and today was no different. Unlike Fred, McTominay was stationary in the midfield and hardly created spaces to receive any pass.
