10 Most Expensive Real Madrid Signings In Football History

Real Madrid have officially recruited Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco for a 80 million Euros fee, making him one of the most expensive signings in Real Madrid history.

Since the history of Real Madrid, only Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard were signed for over 100 million Euros. However, it is Hazard who remains Real Madrid’s most expensive signings in football history and the Belgian professional is yet to live up to expectations.

Aside Tchouameni, Hazard and Bale, there are three other players who were signed for atleast 75 million Euros. Cristiano Ronaldo, Rodriguez and Zinedine Zidane are the players in question.

Carlo Ancelotti will need to make a big decision next season as he now have two top defensive Midfielders to select from.

Casemiro has been an incredible player for Real Madrid, while Tchouameni move means that Madrid will make him a first team player. If this happens, Casemiro might be forced to leave the club.

However, Real Madrid will be participating in many tournaments next season. They will be playing UEFA super cup, FIFA club world cup, Spanish super cup, Copa del Rey, La Liga and UEFA champions league.

This shows that Ancelotti will rotate both splayers to avoid injuries and fatigue.

Tchouameni is the only defensive midfielder in Real Madrid’s top five most expensive signings. Other four players in the top five are all forwards, meaning that Tchouameni’s talent is valued as much as other forwards.

Other players who made up Real Madrid’s top ten most expensive list includes Eder Militao, Luis Figo, Luka Jovic and Ricardo Kaka. It’s not a guarantee that Tchouameni will impress because he was signed for 80 million Euros.

He will need to fight his position and not end up like Eden Hazard. However, Eder Militao is the only defender that made Real Madrid’s top ten most expensive signings.
