10 Most Expensive Argentinians In Europe’s Top Five Leagues

Lisandro Martinez who joined Manchester united for a cash fee of 57.4 million Euros, is currently the fourth most expensive Argentinian in the Europe’s top five leagues. The new Manchester united centre-back has a market value of 32 million Euros and would be playing for the red devils next season.

However, Gonzalo Higuain remains the most expensive Argentine of all-time. Juventus signed the striker in 2016/17 season for 90 million Euros. This fee is 25 million Euros more than the fee Manchester united paid Real Madrid in the 2014/15 season to sign Angel Di Maria.

However, Angel Di Maria spent only one season at Manchester United before he joined Paris Saint-Germain in the 2015/16 season. This move made Angel Di Maria the third most expensive Argentinian in Europe top five leagues as Paris Saint-Germain paid Manchester united 63 million Euros to acquire his services.

Asides Higuain, Martinez and Angel Di Maria, other Argentine players who cost over 45 million Euros includes Crespo and Mauro Icardi. Nevertheless, Crespo joined Lazio in the 2000/01 for 56.8 million Euros while Paris Saint-Germain signed Icardi for 50 million Euros.

Other Argentine players who made the top ten list includes, Otamendi, Veron, Pastore and Paulo Dybala. However, Dybala is currently a free agent and is yet to sign for a new club this summer.

Moreso, Lisandro Martinez is expected to pair with either Varane or Maguire in the defense next season. Arsenal were initially leading the race to sign the Argentine defender but Erik Ten Hag was able to convince Lisandro Martinez to join him at Manchester United.
