Ghanaians have been requested to allow the Akufo-Addo government more time while it takes steps to address the country’s difficulties, according to Minister of Health Kwaku Agyeman Manu.
The COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Minister, decimated the economies of most countries, including Ghana. As a result, the government is working hard to resurrect the economy and alleviate the citizens’ hardships.
The Minister reacted to the demands of the #FixTheCountry movement during a press conference on Wednesday. And according to him, the administration has done a good job of managing the economy despite the challenges created by COVID-19.
Government couldn’t get import from China because of lockdowns and factory closures. And that when freight charges go up, there is imported inflation and definitely we will feel something in our country that will accumulate to some little charges.
He continued, “We have stopped evaluating all these [effects] and we have gone ahead to form a #FixTheCountry Movement. Yes, government will fix the country but we need time.”
Mr. Agyeman Manu also urged everyone to get vaccinated in order to avoid the county from reverting to its dark days. And suggested that getting the vaccine is also a citizen’s contribution to the country’s recovery.
