Professor Charles Marfo had advised NPP delegates in Ashanti Region to change Chairman Wontumi.
According to him, Chairman Wontumi should step aside from his position as the Regional Chairman.
Professor Marfo, is the provost of the college of humanities and social sciences of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He advised Mr. Benard Antwi Bosiako to never conceive the idea that he is irreplaceable. He made this statement following a pronouncement by Chairman Wontumi that, he is irreplaceable.
Chairman Wontumi was claiming the party will lose the 2024 election should they vote against him.
Professor Marfo said, if you are a leader and think you are irreplaceable, you have failed. There should be successes even in your absence. He said he would have vote against him for saying he is irreplaceable if he was a delegate.
He said as a leader, you must groom people to take after you in your absence.
The provost then appealed to Chairman Wontumi to step aside and contest at the national level.
The professor said delegates should change Chairman Wontumi as he has been at post for two consecutive terms.
The professor called on the New Patriotic Party in the region to reconstitute its leadership. He said the party in the region is faced with leadership crises.
