Bawumia’s Advance Convoy Involved In A Deadly Accident

The news reaching the desk of UrbanNewsGh is that the advance convoy of Vice President Bawumia has been involved in a deadly accident. On Friday night, an advance squad of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s vehicle crashed at Kablipe, a village after Buipe.

According to preliminary accounts, the military officials’ car drove off the main route between Buipe and Tamale and crashed into some timber lots. The incident happened while the team was on its way to Tamale.

The driver, identified as Sergeant Zorwunu, was found on the scene. Major Hansen Adu Kofi and Captain Badawe Sabastian, the other officers on board, were seriously injured.

They were airlifted to Tamale Teaching Hospital, where they are receiving emergency care. We believe that all of the victims in this incident are responding to treatment.

The disaster occurred just one day after Vice President Bawumia assumed leadership of the country following President Nana Addo’s 10-day trip.
