Dr. Bawumia, Ghana’s Vice President, has contributed GHC 50,000 to Psalm Adjeteyfio, popularly known as T.T of the Taxi Driver TV series.
In a video released a few weeks ago, the legendary actor was seen asking for money. He needed the funds to cover his six-month rent, as well as his electricity and medical bills.
Adjeteyfio needed GHC 3,000 to pay his rent or he would just be kicked out of the residence. The actor stated that he does not work for a living. He’s ended up turning into a charity base.
He made this request during an exclusive interview session with Emmanuel Agyemang of Step 1 TV.
When Dr. Bawumia saw the viral video, he promised to help the veteran actor settle his costs. He has paid the legendary actor’s GHC 30,000 housing rent for the next five years. In addition, Bawumia has given the actor GHC 20,000 for his general maintenance.
The actor received a total of GHC 50,000 in cash from Vice President Bawumia. This will cover his rent for the next five years, with enough left over for his personal belongings.
A large number of Ghanaians have praised Dr. Bawumia for supporting the actor. Ghanaians expect the government to assist individuals in overcoming personal challenges.
Ghanaians, on the other hand, are urging the government to improve the retirement policy for persons working in the industry.
