Popular media celebrities Nana Aba Anamoah and Serwaa Amihere are facing backlash on Twitter, with some Ghanaians launching stinging assaults against them.
Some individuals attacked the two journalists after a tweet from GHOne’s official Twitter handle. The tweet supported the NPP’s claims that the minority was behind Mr. Osei Kyei-Mensah-famed Bonsu’s E-levy cake.
Mr. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader, has been heavily lambasted on social media for his custom-baked E-levy birthday cake, which was spotted at his 65th birthday party on Wednesday, February 10, 2022. Ghanaians were angry when the majority leader chose to celebrate his birthday with a cake with the word “E-levy” boldly written on it.
“Minority in parliament gifts Majority leader Osei-Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu a custom-baked E-levy cake as he marks his birthday. #GHOneNews#StarrNews#EIBDigital#E-levy.”
The remark has already sparked outrage on Twitter, with some people attacking Nana Aba Anamoah and Serwaa Amihere. These two have been singled out since they work for well-known television stations.
The two are thought to have fought back by deactivating the trolls’ Twitter accounts. GHOne, on the other hand, has condemned its comments, issued a formal public apology, and deleted that specific tweet.
