The University of Ghana’s Students Representative Council (SRC) has encouraged students to take advantage of the ongoing University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) strike to thoroughly prepare for their end-of-semester exams.
He claims that the professors’ strike provides a great opportunity for students to catch up on their academics.
Aikins Opoku also encouraged the government to meet with the aggrieved lecturers as soon as possible to reach an agreement so that they can return to the classroom.
Aikins Opoku, speaking about the SRC’s petition to university authorities about switching academic activities online, highlighted that the increase in Covid-19 cases requires such a decision.
Aikins Opoku also stated that university officials have been aware of situations in which people who have tested positive for the virus continue to communicate with their colleagues.
