
Students of University of Ghana, Commonwealth and Sarbah hall, clash on Friday over the delay in announcing SRC election results. They pelted stones and broken bottles at each other following delays in announcing the winner.
Both groups of students massed up in front of the school’s SRC office and eventually ended up in a clash. In a video circulating on social media, personnel from Ghana Police Service could be seen calming the situation down.
There was no winner for the presidential election for the first round so it resulted in a run – off. The election was held both online and partly in person.
The results of the election in the various hall poling stations shows that Asumadu Prince and his running mate were leading the race.
There have been police reinforcement on campus to quell the violence.
